Claude Mythos Preview Finds Thousands of Critical Vulnerabilities Across Every Major OS and Browser

Anthropic’s newest model didn’t debut with a chatbot demo. It debuted by finding thousands of high-severity vulnerabilities across every major operating system and browser. The model is designed to help developers identify and fix security flaws in their code, but to audit it, you need to generate code, but to audit it at scale.

Project Glasswing: Anthropic Assembles a 45+ Partner Security Coalition

According to a recent briefing (April 8, 2026), Anthropic launched Project Glasswing to help developers identify and fix security flaws in their code. The project includes a collaborative effort with Google, Nvidia, Microsoft, and more than 45 other partners to help developers identify and fix security flaws in their code.

The results are notably concrete: Claude Mythos Preview identified thousands of vulnerabilities across every major operating system and browser, including Windows, macOS, Linux, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. The vulnerabilities range from critical to high severity, with many of them being exploitable remotely.

While Anthropic demonstrates this new model’s potential, it’s important to note that the model is still in its early stages. The company is working to refine its capabilities and improve its accuracy. However, the initial results are promising and suggest that AI can play a significant role in enhancing cybersecurity.
